Mr Smith is a lower limb reconstruction surgeon specialising in primary & revision joint replacement surgery of both the Hip & Knee. He qualified from The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London in 2001. Specialist Orthopaedic training followed on the North West Thames rotation and included a year at Charing Cross Hospital gaining experience in complex lower limb reconstruction and Pelvic Fracture fixation.
Mr Smith undertook a Hip Fellowship at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals gaining extensive experience in Hip Arthroscopy, Young Adult Hip pathology, Primary & Revision Hip Arthroplasty. He also undertook a Knee Fellowship in the same institution covering Primary & Revision Knee Arthoplasty, Complex Arthroplasty in Sickle Cell and Haemophilia.
Mr Smith was appointed as Consultant at Hillingdon & Mount Vernon Hospitals in 2012 and has built up a lower limb surgery practice. He has a special interest in hip & knee primary and revision joint replacement surgery, as well as the treatment of metal-on-metal hip replacements.
