Mr Pierre Nasr is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with particular expertise in lower limb conditions, joint replacement, and complex trauma reconstruction.
Originally from Buckinghamshire, Mr Nasr was educated at the prestigious Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, before completing his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine, St Mary’s Hospital, London, qualifying in 2002. He undertook comprehensive orthopaedic training in the UK, including specialist registrar training at Oxford University Hospitals and advanced orthopaedic training at Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals. His training culminated in his appointment as Chief Resident for Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2012, a role recognising clinical excellence and leadership.
In 2013, Mr Nasr completed an internationally recognised Orthopaedic Fellowship in Australia at a world-renowned Centre of Excellence, finishing in 2015. During this period, he developed advanced expertise in routine and complex hip and knee surgery, joint reconstruction, and the management of complex limb, pelvic, and acetabular fractures. He trained under leading global authorities in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at the award-winning Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.
He later worked in Perth, Western Australia, with the Western Australia Sarcoma Service at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, where his focus included complex hip and knee replacements, bone tumour-related reconstruction, and computer-navigated hip and knee surgery. This specialist training was undertaken under the mentorship of internationally recognised professors in Orthopaedic Oncology.
Mr Nasr returned to the UK in 2015 and was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital, where he currently serves as Head of the Trauma Service. His clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of hip and knee procedures, including total and partial knee replacements, keyhole (arthroscopic) knee surgery, total hip replacement, and hip resurfacing surgery, including the well-known “Andy Murray” hip resurfacing procedure.
In 2016, Mr Nasr joined Three Shires Hospital, Northampton, expanding his private practice to support self-pay, insured, and NHS patients. He regularly treats patients from across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire, and London.
Mr Nasr is committed to delivering excellent surgical outcomes and optimising patient recovery. He utilises an enhanced recovery pathway for hip and knee replacement surgery, focusing on reduced pain, early mobilisation, and a smooth return to daily activities. His outcomes are consistently excellent and are independently recorded through the National Joint Registry, reflecting his dedication to high-quality, patient-centred care.
He is an active contributor to the Hip and Knee Revision Network within the East Midlands South Specialist Orthopaedic Network (EMSSON) and works closely within multidisciplinary teams delivering complex hip revision and hip resurfacing surgery. Mr Nasr also maintains strong links with the East Midlands Sarcoma Network, ensuring seamless care for patients requiring specialist orthopaedic oncology services.
