Mr Marshall qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital, University of London in 1988. He then trained in general and upper gastrointestinal surgery in London and the South East region, before entering the GMC’s specialist Register in 1999.
Since that time, Mr Marshall has worked as a consultant in Oxford and Banbury, building a strong reputation. He is one of four surgeons providing a regional surgical service for stomach and oesophageal cancer.
A further specialty of Mr Marshall is the treatment of hernia patients, carrying out over 100 hernia operations each year. This includes hernia surgery for NHS e-referral (choose & book) patients, at The New Foscote Hospital.
Patients also visit Mr Marshall for gallstone, or spleen surgery, along with acid reflux conditions, swallowing disorders and diagnostic endoscopy.

Research & Teaching
Mr Marshall carried out two years research into gastro-oesophageal reflux disease at Guy’s Hospital, whilst gaining his MS.
He has published research articles on related topics in the British Journal of Surgery and the European Journal of Gastroenterology.
