Jane is one of the UK’s most experienced and respected hand therapists, with three decades of experience in a variety of clinical settings.
She has worked in trauma, orthopaedics, burns, plastic surgery, oncology and other specialist units. Treating patients with a range of hand injuries, or those who have acquired neurological conditions affecting hand movement.
Jane also supports patients with upper limb injuries, or related rheumatological conditions. Providing detailed assessments, rehabilitation and equipment which may make life easier to manage, or aid rehabilitation.
The prime objective of Jane’s support is to enable patients to return to a normal life following injury, or disease. Through a combination of direct treatment, exercise routines, aids to living naturally and personal advice.
Whether she is working alongside a surgeon on post-operative care, or providing direct treatment, Jane’s focus will be on recovery.
Research & Teaching
Jane is an experienced educator, providing direct training to colleagues and lecturing externally. She provides hand therapy education nationally, as a member of the Education Sub Committee of the British Association of Hand Therapists.
Jane has actively been involved in research on Dupuytren’s contracture and co-written an Oxford University Press book, on hand surgery and therapy.
