The Independent Sector
The Independent Healthcare Provider Network (IHPN) produced a report on working in the UK private healthcare sector. Highlighting the benefits and the contribution staff bring to our country.
- Employees are encouraged to control and shape their role.
- People stay in post longer and internal promotion is the norm.
- Overtime is properly rewarded, through pay, or extra leave.
The 85,000 people who work in private healthcare are also rewarded by having time to build sound relationships with colleagues and patients. As the report stated, this helps staff wellbeing in so many ways.
Independent providers do of course treat millions of NHS patients, along with those who are insured, or pay privately. Employees still serve society and enjoy doing so because of the support they receive.
